” I believe freeing people’s curiosity for the unknown and developing disruptive business models have the power to address the challenges of over-tourism and positively impact local communities. This is the heart of what we do at Evaneos. “
Eric La Bonnardière co-founded Evaneos in 2009. An online marketplace connecting individual travelers with the best hand-picked local travel experts in 160 countries—the company has seen exponential year-on-year growth, with over 300,000 travellers todate.
In 2018 Evaneos closed a landmark fundraising round of over $80 million confirming its vanguard position within the rapidly changing tourism industry.
As a passionate globetrotter, Eric understands the transformational power of authentic experiences and personal connections—both for travellers and the communities they visit. It was out of this conviction that tourism can affect positive change that Evaneos was born in collaboration with Yvan Wibaux, his co-founder.
As a husband and father of three, Eric dreams of travelling the world and building that ‘habit of curiosity’ in the hearts of his children. But for the time being he’s happy to settle for the occasional game of tennis and ski-weekend instead.
38 years old, Eric holds an engineering degree from CentraleSupélec, as well as graduate degrees from HEC Paris and KTH in Stockholm. Previously, Eric worked in strategy consulting.
He’s currently the non-executive chairman of Tarkett (world leader in the flooring industry) and is a frequent advisor, angel-investor as well as jury member in the start-up ecosystem.
