Jean-Yves Art is Senior Director in charge of Strategic Partnerships in Microsoft’s Corporate, External and Legal Affairs team. In that role, he manages the relationship between the Company and International Organizations based at Geneva on all policy themes of common interest to Microsoft and those organizations, including technology and human rights, ethics, security and privacy.
Before taking this role in 2016, Jean-Yves practiced antitrust law. He was Microsoft’s lead antitrust attorney in EMEA from 2002 to 2016. Jean-Yves also practiced antitrust law with an international law firm in Paris and in Brussels and worked as a legal secretary at the Court of Justice of the European Communities.
Until his move to Geneva in 2016, Jean-Yves was a visiting professor at the College of Europe, Bruges; at Sciences Po Paris: and at the University of Liège. He has written extensively and is a regular speaker at conferences, formerly on EU law, now on human rights and humanitarian law.
