Rob is Chief Executive at SustainAbility, an ERM Group Company. He has over 20 years’ experience working with the sustainability agenda in business and joined SustainAbility in April 2012. Rob is actively involved with a range of clients working regularly with business leaders and board members in a range of the world’s leading organisations.
Rob leads client assignments focused on integrating sustainability into core business strategy across sectors including food and agriculture, health, finance and banking, technology and mobility. His clients include leaders in organisations such as Nestlé, Michelin, ARM, and RBS. In addition to providing strategic guidance to business leaders, his work is frequently focused on designing and moderating stakeholder dialogues that bring together leaders from business, NGOs and multilaterals to drive change
Rob was previously Chief Executive of Fairtrade International, the global umbrella organization for Fairtrade which continues to be one of the most important global success stories in sustainability and branding. During this time, he saw the impact that such organisations can have throughout emerging economies and agricultural communities. He was previously owner and executive chair of Flag, a ground-breaking sustainability design and communications agency.
Rob is a trustee of the Cambridge Literary Festival, a trustee of the Centre for Global Equality and sits on the steering committee of 2030Vision. He also serves on the Advisory Board of Sustainable Brands Paris. He is proprietor of Duke House, a boutique hotel in Cambridge and when not at Duke House, he can usually be found out on his road bike or a rowing eight.
